During multiple classes we had been working on a Foley Art project. This consist on getting random things from the class and making noises that would match up to the clip, provided by our teacher. My class had to work together to find these items and line them up so they would sound right. Here is my experience:

When our teacher first introduced the assignment, I had mixed feelings about it. At the start, I had anticipated it to be sort of hard, and it kind of was, but after someone came up with the first sound, it became easier and I started coming up and helping with more ideas. Our class had to watch the video a couple of times before we could actually start looking for these items. When we did find these items, we wrote them down on a paper to track who is doing what. I helped come up with one of the machine sounds and one of background noises. The machine sound was easy to make, the background noise was a little harder to find, but it was possible because our teacher told us a website where we could find them. Furthermore, We first had to practice making the sounds and trying to coordinate with each other and matching it to the video, this part was a bit hard, and it took my class a couple of tries before we did it at a good pace. For me since, I had to do the footsteps, they weren't that easy. After we had figured out all our sounds and more or less the timing, we decided to record each section by parts and then put them together after. This worked out rather well, and we were able to record the sounds in around 2 or 3 classes. After we had done all of this, we moved on to the editing process. We made a group of 4 people, which weren't really included in the sound process, get all the sounds and have them match it with the video. This was the longest part as we either had someone missing, or the video wasn't passed on, or a sound couldn't be found. This meaning that we took about 5 classes to finish the video completely. Personally, I did help a little bit with the editing process. In general this project was really fun for me as well as funny and would love to do it again with another clip.
