Now that I have finished my magazine and this is the final post, I am going to reflect on this adventure, my progress, and my final magazine.

At the start of the year I had no idea what this class was about, what I was going to do, nor did I know how to even manage my website. Ultimately, I was lost. But with the help of my teacher, classmates, and all the assignments I was given, I started to gain an idea on what I was supposed to do and how. My experience with this class was overall really fun. Even though the workload was a bit much sometimes, I always felt like I was having fun, especially since our class was so small compared to others.

I have always considered myself to be a creative kid, so when I saw that we had to make a magazine from a genre we decide, I was super excited. I decided to go with sports as my genre since I really liked sports and it seemed as the easiest at the time since I had a bunch of friends who played football. After we picked our genre, we started to do photoshoots. I really liked this part of the class because it was really fun to go out and take pictures. After some time, our teacher decided that we needed more practice with taking photos. I totally agreed with her because, for example, my photos were not the best. To practice more, our teacher would give us a week to do a photoshoot on the genre that was decided by the wheel. My favorite from this was architecture. Even though some of my pictures for architecture did lack some creative components, going out and taking pictures of building who looked nice, or different from others was surprisingly fun.

From this class, I learned a lot of things. One example, which I think is very valuable for kids to learn, is how to use different websites and take advantage of the elements they give. Take Canva for example. Before this class, I did not know that they had a whole variety of options to edit photos on the app. Like, being able to blur out a picture. This was something really valuable that I learnt because it allowed me to advance my use of technology and I also did this for my magazine final Cover, which blurring it out made it look way better. I also learnt that taking a good photo is actually a little more complex. For example, I did not know that simply changing the angle a little bit could make such a difference in a photo. overall, this class really helped me to learn a lot about technology, cameras, and the media.

I had many struggles and success in this class, like for example, there were times where keeping up with the assignments was kind of hard, and other times I would breeze through the assignments, no problem. Success on the other hand I also had many. For example, my second football photoshoot was the first time I ever tried using a background, and according to feedback from my teacher and classmates, it ended up looking good. Overall, this class was like a roller coaster, but it was still really fun.

FINAL MAGAZINE REFLECTION:

If I had to choose what part of my magazine I liked the most, I would have to go with my Double-Page Spread. The reason for this is because I feel like my Double-Page Spread looked the most professional out of my whole magazine. However, I still really like my whole magazine. Firstly, the thing I liked most about my cover is the way in which I put the title, and the contrasting colors. What I mean by this is that the Red Jersey and the blue background contrast each other, making the cover pop out. The main image also came out pretty nice, and it follows conventions as it is an action shot. Furthermore, I think my Table of Contents turned out great as well. Even though it is pretty simplistic, I think it works and matches the article's color scheme. I think the addition of the three pictures on the second page of the Table of Contents and the "FULL TIME" really completed the look. Finally, my Double-Page Spread, I think this section has the best layout, out of the three parts. The pictures specifically on the first page are well organized, and it really gives the article a professional look. I think the repetition of a column and a picture on the right hand side, might become a little repetitive, but it adds a nice touch to the pages. I am really happy with how everything turned out, and I would love to continue on to the A level course.
