Classmate Critique

For this assignment, I am going to go over the critique my classmates gave me for my drafts and final photoshoots so far.

Positive Feedback:

To start off, I had gotten some positive feedback from classmates and my teacher, which was mainly towards my cover and pictures. For example, some of my classmates told me that my pictures were good quality and I had a variety of angles. Similarly, my cover draft was praised mainly because of the picture. Many thought that the picture was good quality and could be seen as a cover for a professional football magazine because of the action shot. Furthermore, many classmates told me that the quote with the cutout picture on my double-page spread was a nice idea and I should incorporate

it. Overall, I had a good amount of positive feedback to work off.

Constructive Feedback:

For my 1st draft I had also received some constructive feedback along with my positive one. For example, many thought that the font from the cover on the left side would look better if it was more faded out, my teacher agreed. Similarly, a lot of my classmates suggested me to put that same cover on the magazine on the right. Furthermore, I thought putting the date on the little yellow line would be a good idea, but when I presented it, my teacher told me the opposite. She recommended that I just put the date on the barcode and get rid of the yellow box. As I start to look at it I really do start to agree. Overall, most of my constructive feedback was centered around little design details which I was experimenting.

Reflection:

As I start to look at the positive and constructive feedback that I received from my classmates, I am starting to realize that a lot of what is being criticized is stuff that I am experimenting. This is good because it allows me to figure out what does work and what doesn't. Also, a lot of the feedback I received are simple fixes.

How Will I Incorporate:

To incorporate this feedback, I am going to have to go over it again and not only incorporate some of them, but also add other aspects for the second draft. This draft has to be better then the other one and only 1 cover, table of contents, and double-page spread.

Overall, this was post was really interesting and important for me as it helped me go over the feedback again and remember it better.
