For this blog post, I am going to go over the changes that I decided to do since my first draft. This includes, incorporating feedback and ideas I have received.
COVER:
First of all, I had narrowed down my cover options to the one on the right because of the blue background. However, it still needed major improvements. I actually did have

some major differences between my first and second draft. For example, some smaller details would be the color of the line at the top, the barcode and date's position. Some big changes on the other hand would be the format of the masthead. The main reason I decided to go with this masthead was because many classmate told me that the other

one on the left was better, and looked more like a magazine. I ended up agreeing, and went with this one. furthermore, I decided to blur out the background because it added more focus onto the main image and made the coverlines pop out better. Furthermore, I decided to change the coverlines to a red because it contradicted with the background, and matched with the main image. Overall, I had some major differences and I am happier with these results.
TABLE OF CONTENTS:

My table of contents was pretty strong, it had some good ideas, all I needed was more pictures. However, when I was making my second draft, I had found a better idea, taking inspiration from online magazines. The most i liked from this draft was the background colors and the 3 pictures that are back to back.

From the start, you can tell there is a big difference in the first part of the table of contents. For example, I decided to put the "contents" on the side instead of the top because it gave me more room for pictures and the text. I kept the background color as this is a light, beige color, and I felt that it was a nice color for a background. Also, I decided to get rid of the bubble numbers because I felt they were to childish and did not help to capture a real, professional magazine. I am really happy with this second draft.
DOUBLE-PAGE SPREAD:

The 1st draft for my double-page spread had some really great ideas, like for example, the quote with the cutout out picture of the interviewee. I had gotten positive feedback on this, and I really did want to add it. Apart from that, I really did not like my 1st draft, and it really didn't feel like a professional magazine. Due to this, I made some major

improvements, mainly towards the start of the double-page spread. As you can see here, I had a complete change for the start, I decided to add a picture at the top and was thinking of fading it out, but I did not know how to do that, so I kept it as is. I also decided to add a quote from the interviewee as I thought this would be a nice touch. I ended up not putting a cutout on the quote because I felt that it would be to full. I think these draft looks way more professional and organized then the last one.
